As a part of the Hitler Youth / Deutsche Jugend and Bund Deutsche Mädel / Jung Mädel Uniform, a cloth insignia in the form of a triangle was worn on the upper left sleeve. The males wore triangles with yellow lettering and the females wore triangles with white lettering.
The [more common] regional triangle sleeve insignia identified the region that the member was from. As of March 1938, the regions were divided into six (6) Obergebiet.
Nord (north)
Süd (south)
Ost (east)
West (west)
Südost (south-east)
Each Obergebiet was sub-divided into many Gebiet.
The upper word on the district triangle (gebietsdreieck) is the Obergebiet and the lower word is the Gebiet.
There were also "special" triangles which were not the normal Gebiet/Obergebiet type.
The insignia shown in this blog is from my collection or items that I have owned than sold.
When viewing, don't forget to click on "older posts" at the bottom of each page. There are several pages of triangles on this blog.
I'm always interested in purchasing district triangles.
